Pamela W. Monroe, CPM is the 2009 President of the Institute of Real Estate Management. With over 25 years of professional industry experience, she joined Community Realty Management, Inc., Pleasantville, NJ, in 2002 and now serves as the company’s vice president of operations.
Ms. Monroe has overseen properties in many states and the Virgin Islands. Her background includes managing all types of multifamily housing – including conventional properties, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) housing, senior housing, and condominiums. She also has managed corporate portfolios.
Ms. Monroe graduated from the University of South
Alabama with a B.S. degree and holds a Real Estate broker’s license
from the state of Alabama. She earned IREM’s CPM designation in 1985
and has been active in the organization ever since. She was an IREM chapter president for two years in the late 1980s and began her national involvement in 1990. In 2003 she was named “CPM of the Year” by IREM’s South Jersey Chapter No. 101. She also has been active in other real estate groups and has held officer and board positions with local and state apartment associations in Alabama and Louisiana.
Throughout her career, Ms. Monroe has sought to give back to her community by serving in various volunteer leadership positions. Among other examples, she was for many years a director of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, Fairhope, AL. As well, while living in Baton Rouge, LA, she was a member of the Housing and Education Foundation. Additionally, through her involvement with the local Kiwanis Club in Baton Rouge, she donated many hours working with inner-city children. In 2001, she was named the club’s “Kiwanian of the Year."
